This is a very simple swedish cookie called ‘Kola kakor’ or ‘Kola snittar’. But the classic ones are without the chocolate on, but I had some chocolate at home and decided to drizzle it at the top. :)
YOU NEED:
100g butter
1 dl granulated sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla sugar
2 tbsp golden syrup
2 dl flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground ginger (can be excluded)
DO THIS:
Preheat the oven to 175 degrees.
Cut the butter into thin slices. Mix the butter and the sugar in a bowl. Add the vanilla sugar, syrup, flour, baking powder and ginger and mix.
Put the mix on a lightly floured surface and work with your hands till you get a nice dough.
Divide it into three parts. Roll out to a length, about 40 cm long. Place them on a baking sheet with parchment paper. Flatten them slightly using a fork.
Bake in the oven until the lengths are light brown, 10-12 minutes. Cut the warm lengths in about 3 cm wide cakes.
